Fiona Bruce (Congleton, Conservative)
To ask the Secretary of State for International Development whether he plans to respond to the recommendation of the UN Emergency Relief Co-ordinator that the international community should provide more financial support and creative solutions to overcome food shortages in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

Alan Duncan (Minister of State, International Development; Rutland and Melton, Conservative)
We believe that the Department for International Development's (DFID) investment in the various humanitarian multilateral organisations working in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) represents the best way for the UK to assist the people of the DPRK. We are in close contact with these humanitarian agencies and continue to monitor the situation.
