What has happened to the £500 illuminated cone, described as a Christmas Tree by Oakham Town Council?

Last year Oakham Town Council spent £500 on new Christmas Tree to sit on the canopy
of Victoria Hall.

There was also the additional costs of fitting ugly sockets onto the listed building.

The tree has vanished, has it been stolen just like the £2000 worth of light which
the town council purchased and put into storage. These were meant for the four
trees in the market place and could not be used because Rutland County Council
rather viciously pollarded them. One of them did not survive the attack and
became and died.

A facebook campaign has been launched to get a decent tree
and lights for the town. so far it has over 300 supporters.
Much bigger support than the Aldi Pages

"The Town Council does not do much but what it does it does
well" said the Clerk, What utter rubbish.

I prefer "The Town Council does little and whatever it does
costs the tax payer a fortune"

My Ward Councillor tells me "I has seen the Facebook page."

I have told him I have suggested all those unhappy residents attend
the next council meeting.
