Idyllic Oakham Rutland Photographs

Halifax, Britain's biggest mortgage lender,
has declared Rutland came top of a survey into rural living standards.

This would of course have nothing to do with the recent increase in homes for sale?

If it's the best why are so many wanting to sell up and move.
Walking around Oakham today I saw so many for sale, in one of our smaller streets,
Finkey Street five homes are up sale.

Is it due to the abysmal planning and development sanctioned by our councils?

Poor Primary Schools?

The characterless Hawksmead development? which looks nothing like the original plan
only recently a Oakham and County Councillor has woken up to that fact.

I was pleased to read most people are enjoying good health, if this were not true the
already overstretched medical practice would, I think collapse. Its important to
stay healthy in older age because Rutland County Council will provide one
of the poorest health care programmes in the country 15 minutes care for the elderly.

In some cases they may not even care for you at all. Since the last election a number
of elderly people have died when care has been supervised by the Conservative
Rutland County Council their favourite response is "we are improving" in 2012 they claimed to implemented an improved system for monitoring day centre attendance after a couple were found dead in their home many days later.

It is said locally the restricted 15 minute care regime is just applied to check elderly
resident are still breathing and the cost outweighs the embarrassment of further
deaths.

Rutland County Council are offering pensioners just 15 minutes of daily care Disgrace!

The details of the councils which are offering the pensioners just 15 minutes of daily care was revealed by The Telegraph.

Jeremy Hunt, the Health Secretary, described the figures as “unacceptable”, saying there were “too many examples of councils buying rushed care visits”.

Rutland is good if you like to walk in the countryside or the slightly faster pace of cycling.

Shopping is generally described as inadequate.

Plenty of Places to eat and drink.

We have the highest council tax in the country and some of the worst councils in the
country.

Oakham Rutland has good secondary schools none controlled by the Tory Council

When young people leave for University they often tweet or write they don't want
to return.
