The 25 year old, of Harrington Way, Oakham, pleaded guilty to causing actual bodily harm on April 18.
He was given a nine month jail sentence, suspended for two years, and ordered to undergo a nine month alcohol treatment programme as well as a 30 day rehabilitation activity requirement to address anger management.
The man will also have to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work and pay a £900 criminal courts charge.
