Lidl Supermarket Oakham Rutland Public Consultation Victoria Hall

Lidl UK GmbH

The proposed development comprises the erection of a new Lidl foodstore with associated access, car parking and landscaping.

The store will extend to 2,460 sq.m gross internal area with a net sales of 1,424 sq.m.

The proposed foodstore will be supported by 126 car parking spaces, including five dedicated disabled and seven parent and child spaces and secure cycle and storage provision. Vehicular access to the site will be taken from a new proposed access on Land’s End Way to the east and at the junction of Land’s End Way and Barleythorpe Road to the south.

It is proposed that the foodstore will be open between the hours of:

7am to 10pm Monday to Saturday; and 10am to 4pm Sunday.

A new vehicular access is proposed off Land’s End Way in the north-east corner of the site. This will accommodate all traffic to and from the north, including deliveries. All HGVs will route to and from the site via Burley Park Way. The existing access in the south-east corner of the site will be utilised by traffic approaching from Barleythorpe Way. Comprehensive improvements will be provided at this location to address visibility and pedestrian safety issues. A dedicated pedestrian access to the site will also be provided direct from Lands End Way.

All waste will be stored within the warehousing area to the rear of the store and will be collected at the same time as deliveries, thereby minimising HGV movements. It should be noted that there will only be a maximum of two deliveries per day.

Lidl are holding a public exhibition on Wednesday 29th June at Victoria Hall, High Street, Oakham from 2.30pm to 6.30pm.

Lidl hope you can attend their exhibition and that you find it useful and informative to meet with the Lidl team.

Lidl hope to submit their application towards the middle of July 2016. I can't imagine there will
be any planning issues as the site already has consent for a supermarket which was proposed
by Sainsbury's
