Former Oakham Mayor Paul Beech 'Looks as though the maniacs have taken over the mad house and put forward a one-way system for Oakham.'

Some resident are not happy with Rutland County Councils plans for Oakham.

Oakham Town Council did not take part in Rutland County Council Consultation not
because we did not want to. I believe are current Chairman who attended a meeting
at Rutland County Council and he then chose not to report Rutland County Coiuncils
plans to council or ask the Clerk to place the matter on the agenda and it is not the
first time he has broken the rules and told the clerk what to do. Only last week he
ordered the clerk not to place a restructuring agenda item on for this weeks meeting
because he was away.

Looks as though the maniacs have taken over the mad house and put forward a one-way system for Oakham. Well it still has to go to full council so there is still a chance that sanity will make a stand. The trouble with that is of course that very few of them have the freedom to voice their true feelings for fear of being stamped on by their so called leaders. I can't say anymore in case Facebook close me down as my feelings at the moment might make me very verbally dangerous. Idiots.

Karen-bryn Carter Neehuis It's disgusting that even with the amount of people stating we do not want it ...we will once again be ignored ...it may be time to call in the BBC news to tell the story of the council and its ignorant councillors ....it's been done once and they came out in a bad light so it can be done again ....why should we lay down and let them walk all over us yet again ...totally sickening

Karen was also pissed off because Rutland County Council did not consult housebound residents like her,

Other people refer to councillors as 'wobbly cocks'  it is fair to say some feel Rutland County Council
did not consult them.

People talk about the three Councillors who manned the consultation unit in the market place
this summer. They claim they were selling the one way rather than consulting. I would agree
with that, most of the advertising on the unit showed the Councils preferred option.
I attended a meeting a RCC and a Cllr I guess I can say slipped up and referred to the one way
option.

I personal support one way but in the other direction, I don't support the changes to historic
bull lane.

Rutland County Council has neglected the town for many years and something needs to be
done to sort out the poor paving, shabby street furniture etc.
