Oakham School hosted its annual Leavers Ball and Fireworks Display on Friday 30th June 2023.

The ball was a formal event, and guests to dressed in black tie. There was a drinks reception. 

The evening also included dancing, live music, and a fireworks display.

Surely the school gate is not the place to intimidate people?

Sad to see some shop feel they can't open. I think they could be losing out of much needed trade.

I passed one of our local butchers lots of travellers, buying meat entering and leaving with smiles 

on their faces.

I popped to Aldi yesterday, the most horrible experience I encountered was Christmas in June and screaming little children a supermarket nightmare for anyone working in any supermarket.

Two old Oakamian's and their parents are using a helicopter this week to attend a English Schools' Cricket Association match. Unfortunately County Cricket, can no longer be played at Oakham due to the blot recently constructed at the side of the pitch.



The Helicopter landed today at 1.30pm on the school playing field just of Kilburn Road.

For all helicopter fans there will be two more chances to catch a look  It will return at 9.30am tomorrow morning (Tuesday 8th July) and again at 5pm tomorrow afternoon.  On each occasion, it will only be on the ground for around 5-10 minutes.
