Oakham Town Council Once Again Proposing To Spend Over £5,000 on New Mayoral Chain
The number of times this has been brought to council is unacceptable.
The Mayor Dave Romney is once again saying the current chain is difficult to wear. He seems to have no issue wearing it as he runs around the town and county wearing it.
If it is too long then just shorten it and store the spare length.
I believe Dave is using this current Covid situation to get this extravagant unnecessary expenditure approved.
In the same way he spends money as he pleases on other items. A unhappy Councillor told me last week
he has once again spent a lot of our money buying snacks and treats for hospital staff. I would not mind if he was using the money to make donations to the foodbank. The hospital staff are paid they are not poor.
If you were a person who has preciously objected to the proposed purchase of the £5.000 + chain then please write to the Town Council before next Wednesdays meeting.
