Although Francis Bacon, 17th century philosopher, statesman and visionary, is widely regarded as the father of modern science, his investigations into the nature of sound are little known. Sound House explores some of the seemingly magical and musical phenomena that Bacon sought to explain. Playing some extraordinary instruments, including the mysterious lirone, the bray harp and a little known viola, The Society of Strange and Ancient Instruments will present music of the 17th century within a modern context of newly composed pieces, exploring astonishing aural effects and illusions that so intrigued our 17th century forbears.

Our fun day usually attracts between 400-600 people and we would love to invite you on the day which is full of activities, live music, BBQ, products for sale, games to play etc! We also have an amazing play park and outside gym including a zip wire!

We are selling cakes from our cafe set in our Country park. They will also have a stall at our annual family fun day selling equestrian themed goods and treats to fund raise for two of residents along with another member of the Mount group RDA have been selected to represent East Midlands RDA in the 2017 special Olympics to be held in Sheffield this Summer.
