Ken Siddle - the Liberal Democrat candidate for Ketton ward by-election July 2017

Ken Siddle - the Liberal Democrat candidate for Ketton ward by-election July 2017

Professor Kenneth Siddle has been a Liberal Democrat member for more than 30 years. He joined when serving on his local Parish Council.
Ken lives in Wing with his wife Anne, also a research scientist, and his son Edward who is in the sixth form at Oakham School. The family have lived in Wing for more than 20 years.
Ken has spent most of his working life at Cambridge University, latterly as Professor of Endocrinology (and now Emeritus). He is based at Addenbrooke's Hospital in the university's Institute of Metabolic Science where he researches the biochemistry of insulin action and type II diabetes. He is also Vice-Master of Churchill College in Cambridge.
Ken says, "I have always strongly believed in the importance of local politics and would like to represent the people of Ketton on Rutland County Council as well as hoping to increase the levels of scrutiny and provide more opposition when necessary.
"In terms of broader horizons I am a passionate European based on my experience as a research scientist with international connections.
"For relaxation I enjoy travelling, hill-walking, bird-watching, gardening and cricket."
