Rosemary Tolkien Exhibition Victoria Hall Oakham Rutland

Rosemary Tolkien

Exhibition Victoria Hall Oakham Rutland

This week at Victoria Hall, Rosemary Tolkien an artist from Uppingham Rutland is showing her work. Admission is free.

The show gives people the chance to see Rosemary’s collection of painting based on architecture.

The collection includes works of architecture from Tenerife, Uppingham, Stamford and St. Pancras Station.

Rosemary describe her installation piece, “I have used ‘building blocks’ to show how the different architecture of the newly restored St Pancras Station interacts.

I have broken down the images into flat shapes and colours in to synthesize them into their significant forms so that the overall design, although being very neo-realist in character, takes on a formalist element.”
