UPPINGHAM CHORAL SOCIETY

Uppingham Choral Society is a friendly amateur choir, of approximately sixty members. Its members live either in Uppingham or in the surrounding area, and it is conducted by Peter Clements, a member of the Music Department at Uppingham School.

We are always pleased to recruit new members; there are no auditions.

We rehearse from 8.00-10.00pm on Thursday evenings in the Methodist Church in Orange Street. Our season runs from September through to our Spring Concert, although in 2008 we had an additional concert at the Uppingham Fringe Festival in June. We always hold a Christmas and a Spring Concert.

Recent performances have included Rutter Gloria, Mozart Requiem, Haydn Nelson Mass, VivaldiGloria and Parry Blest Pair of Sirens.

We are at present preparing for our forthcoming concert on Saturday 9th April 2011. The concert will take place in Uppingham School Chapel at 7.30pm and will include Monteverdi 'Beatus Vir', Handel 'Dettingen Te Deum' and Haydn 'Mass in Time of War'
