Although the crossing at Oakham was held open for the front part of the Olympic torch Convoy, it appears the torch party was held held up as they arrived at the crossing they had to wait for a passing freight train. I don't know if the large gap of time between the convoy of sponsors and the torch arrival was part of the plan. If they had arrived together maybe they would have crossed before this train passed? Normally the barrier is down for five minutes before any train passes, this looks a very short period of time. I remember the signal man saying he could not keep the barrier up for much longer.
You might notice I appear in this film. No I am not the one hanging from the lamp post.
