Cllr Alf Dewis Oakham Mayor, CAB, Open Standards Letter, Rutland County Councils

Rutland County Council.

Dear Standards,

at the AGM of Oakham Town Council, Cllr Alf Dewis was appointed Mayor of Oakham.

It is normal practice for the Mayor to represent the town on the CAB.

However Cllr Dewis, Now Mayor Dewis, was adamant that he did want to represent the town as
a ex officio member of the Council on the CAB. He went to great pains to insist there was no need
for the Mayor to sit on the CAB. This action has broken a long standing tradition.

It has been noted from the list of members interests, Cllr Dewis on 3rd January 2012 declared he no longer serves a volunteer on the CAB.

I and other members of the public have raised concerns regarding the way in which the CAB has
handled confidential matters.

I personally was alarmed when details of one of my visits appeared on-line.

Is Cllr Dewis reluctant to sit on the CAB now,  due to the fact that information has been leaked in the past?

Can you find out why Cllr Dewis is so adamant that he will not sit on the CAB.

Furthermore the Deputy Mayor has accepted a stage one harassment order for harassing me. Can you find
out why, given these circumstances he has been appointed as Deputy Mayor?

Are Oakham Town Council intent on self destruction?

Not one person on this council is elected, there are still a number of vacant seats to be filled. Is it any wonder
people are reluctant to serve on Oakham Town Council, given the abysmal standards of town councillors.
