Jubilee Hour to support Leicestershire Police Chief Constable Simon Cole
Leicestershire Police is creating openings for everyone to volunteer an hour of their time to help good causes promoted by the Force during 2012. The “Jubilee Hour” is a national campaign which encourages each and every person, as an individual or group, to undertake 60 minutes of volunteer service – or an act of goodwill – to mark Her Majesty's 60 years of service to the nation.
The process of pledging your Jubilee Hour to support Leicestershire Police is simple and involves no checks or vetting procedure. From helping with leaflet drops to promote safer neighbourhoods, to shooting some promotional event photographs or video on behalf of the Force, there are endless ways in which any person can contribute.
Chief Constable Simon Cole of Leicestershire Police said: “As an organisation, we recognise the importance of volunteering. Our Force volunteers have a big impact on the communities they serve. We are fortunate enough to have some outstanding volunteer groups, some of which have won a string of national annual awards for their contribution to communities.
“We all have a stake in protecting our communities. Call us to pledge your Jubilee Hour and together we’ll explore how you can begin making a contribution.”
There are many opportunities to volunteer throughout the year in support of Leicestershire Police’s community campaigns which deliver local policing services and provide local communities with information about tackling crime.
Chief Constable Simon Cole said: “You can decide how your Jubilee Hour will be spent; if you want your Hour to be about you making a real difference to local communities, we’ll be happy to help you achieve your aim.”
