Max Hunt, Labour Group Leader and County Councillor for Loughborough NW Standards not used political purposes,

Max Hunt, Labour Group Leader and County Councillor for Loughborough NW  Standards not used political purposes,

Reading all the news about the Conservative Leader of Leicestershire County Council reminds me so much of the conservative mob we endure here at Rutland County Council

The Leicestershire Conservative County Councillors wine on about the political use of the Standards Committee.

A tool Rutland Conservatives so often use here in Rutland to their advantage. I have experienced it total unfair biased procedures.

i fear for any non conservative in Rutland this is to become far worse now the new Conduct Committee has been formed, mainly made up of Conservatives.

The interesting thing about the new committee is the voting rights. No voting rights will be given to independent or parish representatives so you could ask what is the point of the committee. A useful tool for the Rutland Mob? (Conservatives)

I wrote to all Leicestershire County Councillor mainly highlighting the political use of standards and highlighting the need for truly independent standards and suggested the same for the police. for any organisation to investigate its self is a farce.

I have so far received 4 automated away and one reply below:

Dear Mr Brookes,
Thank you for your email. May I assure you that I and my colleagues in the Labour Group treat standards with the utmost seriousness.  It may be used elsewhere for political purposes, but not with us at Leics CC.
If any breaches the Code, they would feel our heavy hand regardless of those involved.
