O Duo

Oliver Cox, Owen Gunnell percussion
An exciting journey through 300 years of music, from Bach to Philip Glass, in the company of two virtuoso percussionists.  Their spellbinding performances have been seen and heard on BBC radio and television, the BBC Proms and in the Edinburgh Fringe – winning them two Fringe First awards – as well as on film scores and CDs.  Playing marimba, vibraphone and a host of percussion instruments the duo’s performances are a visual treat as well as a highly entertaining musical event. The style is infectious, with perky patter. But there is phenomenal artistry underneath it all.’  Daily Telegraph
St Swithun’s is situated in peaceful pastures at the southern end of a long village street.  Although mentioned in Domesday, the church’s only surviving Norman feature is the south doorway but there is much other early work remaining, including traces of wall paintings in the nave.  Other notable features include a particularly fine Jacobean pulpit and screen.
