Non stop road traffic collision in Morcott

Police are appealing for witnesses to a non stop road traffic collision in Morcott.

The incident happened at 9am on Saturday, June 16 on the A47 and involved a cyclist and a grey or blue Renault Laguna.

Both the cyclist and car were travelling towards Peterborough when the incident happened. The car did not stop at the scene.

The 49-year-old cyclist received serious facial injuries and was taken to Northampton Hospital, but has since been discharged.

PC Nige Whitehorn, who is investigating the incident said: “We are obviously keen to speak to anyone who was driving though the area at the time of the incident and saw the collision take place, or saw either the car or the bike in the moments leading to it.

“Please think back, were you in this area on Saturday morning? Did you see a car driving off from the scene? Any information could help with our enquiries.”
