A HOMELESS woman spat at two 17-year-old girls and shouted racist abuse at a police officer in Oakham, Hinckley Magistrates’ Court

A HOMELESS woman spat at two 17-year-old girls and shouted racist abuse at a police officer in Oakham, a court heard.

Fidelma Dorian, 48, appeared before magistrates at Hinckley Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday after complaints about her aggressive begging on Sunday.

She pleaded guilty to two counts of common assault by beating, two public order offences and racially aggravated harassment, and was given a 36-hour sentence for the offences.

PC Joe Lloyd says:

“We are working with the council and other agencies to offer the right kind of support to anyone begging on the streets and would urge shoppers not to encourage beggars by giving them money.”

Sadly the truth is Rutland County Council does nothing to help the homeless.
It is also true people who are homeless need to want help and let people help.
In this case talking to the lady I learnt she was reluctant to accept offers of help
for fear of losing her independence and freedom

A lot of the change given to this lady was spent on the product below, its not an excuse
but I am sure it goes a long way to explain her behaviour here in Oakham

I am sure Rutland County Council are happy this lady is no longer living in their county.
