We are organising this weekend of historical interest for local residents and descendants of Preston families. It is a fundraiser towards replacing the lead roofing on Preston Church, which was stolen in the winter.
A Service at 11:30am on Sunday, 15th July will be conducted by the Rural Dean of Rutland, Canon Lee Francis-Dehqani, with a special flower display in the church.
There will also be a History Exhibition of the village in the Village Hall, with photos, pictures and information about local village life. This will be open on Sunday.
Descendants of two of the main families, the Sheilds and the Belgraves, who were prominent in the village from the 15th to the 19th centuries, are travelling over from New Zealand and USA, as well as from the UK. We welcome local people joining in.
