Rutland Wanderer
Young people in Empingham will have action-packed Wednesday evenings for the next 12 weeks, as the ‘Rutland Wanderer’ youth bus visits the area.
The mobile youth club, provided by Rutland County Council, will be available in the village on Wednesdays during July, August and September (last session is 19th).
It will be available between 6.30pm and 9.00pm, offering a huge variety of things to do, ranging from fun sessions, to education activities, advice and more.
Councillor Gene Plews, Portfolio Holder for Youth, commented: “I’d urge all of the young people in Empingham to come along on Wednesday and see what ‘The Rutland Wanderer’ is all about.  We know it can be difficult growing up in a rural village, as there is often little public transport in the early evenings.  We hope that by bringing the activities to the young people, they will support them and take part”.
Councillor Plews added, “The first couple of sessions will help us decide what activities to put on in later weeks. If you have an idea about what you’d like to see on-board the Rutland Wanderer, then come along to the session in Empingham on  Wednesday evening and let us know”.
