The Angel Inn Yarwell WOOFSTOCK - Charity music, real ale & cider festival

WOOFSTOCK - Charity music, real ale & cider festival

Saturday July 28th to Sunday July 29th

The 4th annual Woofstock festival is taking place at The Angel Inn Yarwell on Saturday 28 July and Sunday 29 July 2012.
Woofstock was created in 2009 by pub owners Nick and Diane Lander as a fundraising event for The Retired Greyhound Trust (registered charity 269668), with last year’s event raising over £2200 for the charity. ‘We wanted to do something for charity’ says Nick, ‘because having given a loving home to five greyhounds over the years, we know first hand what wonderful domestic companions they make and want to both promote the breed as a fantastic pet, whilst raising money for the charity’.

At least 10,000 greyhounds retire from racing in Britain every year at an average age of just 2½ years. The Retired Greyhound Trust is dedicated to finding loving homes for greyhounds when their racing days are over.

Over the two days, local musicians and bands will be playing live in pub’s beer garden, accompanied by a real ale and cider festival and bbq. Once again, the fun atmosphere will be instigated and compered by Peterborough FM’s Rurality Show DJ, Jim Boulton.

Although the complete list of bands awaits final confirmation, those secured thus far for the event include AC/Dc tribute Let there B/DC, Sex Pistols tribute Filthy Lucre, Kickback, Sir Scallyway, Lexi Green, Gone to the Dogs, Intwined, the Conspiracy Club, Ignition and We Sell Tigers.

In May, the pub’s Knobworth festival successful raised over £1600 for Everyman – the UK’s leading prostate and Testicular cancer charity.
