The Lions Rutland Club Tesco BBQ
I spotted an advertisement, the Rutland Lions were holding a BBQ outside Tesco Oakham on Saturday.
The advertisement also said the club would be show casing the good work they do. As people often ask what do they do? apart from collecting tins at beans at Christmas, from local shoppers. according to cllr Lucas most of those tins found there way to a old peoples home. I am sure this helped residents enjoy their five a day and then there is their visible presence at events in the form a the BBQ like above. And their meetings held in a local hotel bar.
I turned up and was greeted by ex Cllr Lorna Grey.with her usual fake smile and wave.
There appeared to be no visible evidence of a showcase of their good works. So I decided to just take a photograph and leave.
ex Cllr Kelly pointed out to an ex Cllrs husband I was around taking this photograph.
His response with a face looking like the colour of a used nappy or a horrible version of that man of the tv, (fake tan) was "I thought I could smell something strange!"
I thought he must have thought his wife had just dropped her knickers in public again...
It is such a pity so many of Oakham and Rutland's groups are controlled by such inept people like him.
I stopped and chatted to a member of the public who heard the comment. We both wondered when are these bullies going to grow up and decided they're are all from a generation of old bullies who will never change.
I suggest the Rutland Lions take a good long look at their public relations..
