In
the past few days there have been two separate thefts from unattended
motor vehicles in the area around Rutland Water, on both occasions a
window was smashed to gain entry and items were taken from inside the
car.
It only takes seconds for a thief to break into a car and take items that are left on display!
Please consider the following advice when parking your car in the countryside.
Try to AVOID parking your car in isolated rural areas, if there are public carparks in the area, please use them.
Make sure your car is left LOCKED & SECURE
Be AWARE of other people around who may be watching what you are doing!
Please DO NOT leave any items or bags on show in your car if you are going to leave it unattended.
Please TAKE ALL valuable items with you and place any bags, luggage etc... in the boot of the car where they cannot be seen.
If you do see any suspicious activity or vehicles around parked cars
then please call Leicestershire Police immediately by dialling 101
