Oakham Town Council Jubilee Party Sponsors FOI part Answer

I recently made a FOI request of Oakham Town Council.

I will never understand why it is so difficult for this council to answer simple questions

Like who sponsored the Jubilee Party and the amount they donated.

The overpaid Clerk attempted to rip me off £10 by suggesting my FOI request was a Data Protection
Request?

17th August 2012

Dear Mr Brookes

Re: freedom of Information Request

I am writing to acknowledge your request for information under the Freedom  of  Information Act 2000.
This request was received in the Town Council offices on 9th August 2012 and I attach a copy for your information.

I am of the opinion that this is a subject access request relating to third party individuals and as such falls under the provision of the Data Protection Act ("the act"0

Under the Act, I am entitled to charge a fee for the supply of this information and a Fee Notice of £10.00
is also attached. Once the fee is paid then  I have 40 calendar days in which to supply the information.

Under Section 7(5) of the Act I am obliged to communicate as much of the information asked for as
possible. However, you are asked to note that this may be supplied with the third party information edited or deleted.

Yours sincerely
Richard White
Clerk to the Council

Either the Clerk is stupid or thinks I am I don't know which it is?

After some further correspondence I have now received the reply below.

It is not as if I had asked any difficult question, like why are the office blinds and office closed more than they should be.

I think it clearly shows how obstructive this council is.

The reply below fails to show the amounts donated. So it appears I will never know which of the "many donors only gave a worthless £10" as publicly stated by Cllr Charles Haworth at a recent public meeting.

We do know Cllr Adam  Lowe donated £500 its amazing how many £500 donations Cllr Lowe has  thrown around this year clearly attempting to buy favour or Travis Perkins pay their store managers to much cash?

Although the Clerk is not willing to provide details of amounts sponsored.
He has shown how the council behaves by giving the full details publicly of one that did not pay.

I am not sure why the Odd House Pub  are refusing to pay their agreed £50 sponsorship.
maybe they changed there mind after they saw how Cllr Haworth squandered so much public
money. That includes Cllr Joyce Lucas giving her old friends the left over Jubilee mugs that were meant for the young people of Oakham?

Is it possible the above don't want the public to know how much cash they gave the council?  to exploit the commercial potential of the association between a sponsor and sponsee?
We know Cllr Haworth once worked for Lands' End
