Dear Oakham Town Council,
I am concerned about the funding of the Oakham Town Partnership.
Rutland County Council pulled the plug on funding and administration of this organisation.
It appears Oakham Town Council has taken over the role.
I can not remember The Town Council ever passing a resolution to support this
organisation.
There is no funds in the budget to provide this support.
I wonder if the Town Council can explain the advert in this weeks Rutland Times
and the on-line advertisement on The Rutland Times web site.
Also The Town Partnership now advertises the Council's Telephone number as
a point of contact.
I do not believe the tax payer pays the over paid Clerk to be a receptionist
for the Town Partnership.
Surely as Chairman Cllr Dewis should be giving his phone number or perhaps
their treasure Cllr Nowell?
It was announced at the last meeting the Town Council was placing an advert in
the paper for this weekends Band Concert.
The Clerk was very clear when he said, the Car Boot Sale and Classic Car event
were not a Town Council Events.
I assume the cost of the terrible looking advert, is being shared by the Towns Tax Payers
and The Oakham Town Partnership. The advert looks like it is advertising the Christmas Carol Concert rather than a Summers afternoon Jazz Concert
As I have previously said, I and others believe Cllr Dewis's role as Chairman, Mayor of the Town Council and his role as Chairman of the Town Partnership is a conflict of interest.
I am also concerned that the new financial regulations contained within the recently
adopted new code of conduct could be a issue for those two councillors mentioned.
Freedom of Information Request:
Please can you provide the following information relating to this weekends band
concert.
1. Cost of Advertisement Placed in press
2. Cost of On-line advertisement
3. Production costs of the advert.
4. Oakham Town Partnerships Contribution towards the above costs
