Twelfth Night
Shakespeare's finest comedy is a merry tale of unrequited love,
shipwrecked twins, mistaken identity and drunken revels. The comical
love triangle of Olivia. Orsino and Viola who is disguised as a boy, is
further complicated by the arrival of her twin brother Sebastian. In
addition, the hilarious antics of the roguish drunkard, Sir Toby Belch,
the foppish fool Sir Andrew Aguecheek and the sanctimonious puritan
Malvolio, will amuse, delight and entertain.
Henry IV Part 1
One of Shakespeare's most celebrated dramatic achievements, this play
effortlessly mixes history and comedy - moving with ease from scenes of
royalty to rebel strongholds and rough drinking dens. These are
troubled times for King Henry. His son, Hal, acts more like a rogue then
the Prince of Wales - preferring to have fun with a drunken villain,
Sir John Falstaff, and his shady retinue. Meanwhile, from the north come
rumours of a rebellion led by the son of Percy family - the valiant
Hotspur. Determined to prove himself in battle, Hal begins a great and
compelling transformation...
The Three Musketeers
When the young, impetuous d'Artagnan arrives in Paris from his native
Gascony, hoping to join the musketeers of King Louis XIII, little does
he realize how quickly his life is about to change. Within a short time
he has insulted three of the most valiant musketeers: Athos, Porthos and
Aramis and accepted a challenge to fight a duel from each of them !
However, he soon becomes their friend, sharing their many richly comic
adventures as they meet with larger-than-life characters such as the
machiavellian Cardinal Richelieu and the comrades' arch-enemy, the
notorious Milady de Winter. Alexandre Dumas' famous novel is beautifully
adapted for the open-air stage by Linda Alper, Douglas Langworthy and
Penny Metropulos.
