Concessions £11.00 Jonathan Dimbleby began his career at the BBC in 1969 with The World at One, moving to ITV's flagship current affairs programmeThis Week three years later. He reported from crises in many parts of the world, and his coverage of the 1973 Ethiopian famine - The Unknown Famine - was followed by TV and radio appeals which raised a record sum nationally and internationally. His report contributed to the overthrow of Haile Selassie. Since then, he has presented numerous documentaries and political programmes, including On the Record (1987-92), The Prince of Wales - The Private Man, The Public Face (ITV 1994) and The Last Governor - the story of the last five years of British rule in Hong Kong (BBC 1, 1997). In 1995 he re-joined ITV to present his own new flagship political programme, anchoring their election coverage while also writing and presenting several travel features for the BBC. He has made Radio 4's Any Questions? and its sibling Any Answers? his private domain for the last 25 years. This evening he will mark the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of El Alamein in November 1942, which is the subject of his new book Destiny in the Desert, as well as talking about his career and answering the audience's questions.
