Melton on a Tuesday is a busy day with the two markets trading.
Parking in Melton is nearly impossible, people park anywhere footpaths, grass spaces and private property.
pedestrians were very annoyed when they found their way blocked by a van displaying a blue badge. Parked blocking the dropped curb, this making crossing the road a little bit dangerous, also a challenge I imagine for those taking driving lessons and tests leaving the same area. The ticket man was assuring passing people he was issuing a ticket, a blue badge no longer gives a driver the right to park anywhere the please.
That reminded me Rutland County Council Enforcement Officers started issuing penalties of £70
for anyone who blocks any dropped kerb.
