Royal Mail, Delivery to Neighbour

Royal Mail, Delivery to Neighbour

Will this New Royal Mail Label, be a sign of an unfriendly neighbourhood?

Looking at the surrounding area where this label is stuck, I might not want
my parcels left at egg splattered properties.

I find one of the questions on the  Royal Mail web site must be placed for selfish
folk.

Can I have my parcel delivered to neighbours but opt out of accepting theirs?

Royal Mail Asnwer: NO

Royal Mail have been trialling Delivery to Neighbour in selected areas since November 2011. The trial, which was approved by the regulator following a public consultation, is part of a process of bringing Royal Mail's terms and conditions more in line with other delivery companies. Feedback from households in the trial areas revealed that 92% of customers whose item was left with a neighbour were satisfied with the overall experience. 90% of neighbours who accepted an item expressed overall satisfaction. they are now seeking regulatory changes to allow us to extend Delivery to Neighbour across the UK for the benefit of all customers.

The Royal Mail says  If you would prefer us not to deliver any of your mail to a neighbour or attempt to deliver any of your neighbours' items to you, you can choose to opt out of the Delivery to Neighbour service. Simply request an opt out sticker and we'll arrange for it to be sent to you before the start of the national roll out at the end of September.
