Oakham Level Crossing effected by flood water flowing through Oakham Station
Today Oakham level crossing broke, staff from Rail Track for
most of the day had to manually operate the barriers.
this meant they were down a lot longer than normal and the
lights remained on red and confused drivers were directed to
cross by rail track.
The problem was caused by flooding as one of Oakham's waterways
decided to change its route and flow through Oakham Station.
This also effected signals so slowing services.
Despite this problem other train were diverted onto the same line
from other lines worse effected.

A steady stream of water flows towards Oakham level crossing.
Water and electric points don't mix that well.
