Rutland County Council Responds To Private Eye Article

A number of residents have contacted the council following the recent publication of an article in Private Eye magazine.

The article covers a number of issues, but enquiries received by the council this week focus on a decision taken by Full Council in October 2012.

At this meeting, 21 Councillors* voted unanimously to “organise an independent report on the actions of the Rutland Anti-Corruption Party”.  The three members of this political group are Councillors Richard Gale, David Richardson and Nick Wainwright.
All 21 Councillors* also voted to support the following statement: “That the Chief Executive and senior officers be congratulated on the professional way in which they conduct Rutland County Council business and that the Council has every confidence in them.”

Apologies were received from Mrs Emmett and Mr Woodcock. 

Mr Gale, Mr Richardson and Mr Wainwright decided to leave the meeting prior to the report being discussed.
