Another of Oakham's Schools is dumping Rutland County Council, English Martyrs Oakham

Another of Oakham's Schools is dumping Rutland County Council

English Martyrs Oakham  has partnered with St Augustine’s Stamford establishing a Multi-Academy
Trust. the schools are aiming for 1 May 2013 as the completion date.

The built area of English Martyrs RC Primary School is owned freehold by
the Nottingham Diocese however, the playing field land/vehicle drop off is
owned by Rutland County Council.

The School is currently seeking a lease from Rutland County Council for use of that land, Rutland
County Council is set to agree a 125 year lease to the catholic diocese and include a provision for
community use.

Part of the land is already leased and used as a neglected play area by Oakham Town Council
who last week hacked at the school trees, that has resulted in a large bill for Oakham tax payers.
