Oakham Town Council, Has no objections to proposed new housing estate, former Parks School Site and Barleythorpe Field
Last night Oakham Town Council considered planning application from Bellway Homes
who are proposing to build 61 homes on the sites mentioned above.
Councillors acknowledge local residents had asked for a number of parking spaces and
the developer was only willing to provide spaces two less than needed. The Town Council
made no recommendation to support the residents.
The made very little comment about the development as a whole. This is quite normal
for the town council. Pointless....
Cllr Dodds did raise a concern she had regarding the number of homes to be built
in such a small plot,
The Chairman Cllr Adam Lowe blamed the government, suggesting they controlled the
density of housing developments. I am sure this is not the case.
