Project Manager - Oakham Enterprise Park, Rutland County Council, Former Ashwell Prison

Rutland County Council are advertising for a project manager for the Oakham Enterprise Park
the former Ashwell Prison.

Oakham Mayor Cllr Alf Dewis used the description White Elephant when talking about this
project at the last Town Council meeting. He could have a point there?  I look forward to
his promised future comments.

Tory Deputy Leader of Rutland County Council Terry King is attempting to divert millions
of pounds of Oakham 106 payments for the sports hall and gym?

At public deputations Cllr Alan Walters said the council had
not decided how those 106 payments should be spent.

Only on a few days ago we heard the council has asked Sainsbury's to contribute to the project
that falls within the parish boundaries of Ashwell and not Oakham.

Oakham Town Councillor Lucas appeared to object to this proposed spending.

We all know King will get his cash that is the way the Tory majority in Rutland work
and no one will consider Cllr Cartwright's concerns about location and public transport from
Oakham.

Public transport is so poor to Ashwell, the prison used to run its own bus service for visitors.
