Police offer reassurance to parents about suspicious man

LOUGHBOROUGH Police commander Insp Johnny Monks has issued reassurance to parents following three suspicious incidents.
Police say they have recently received three reports of suspicious incidents in the Loughborough area, where a man has been described as a dark van has allegedly been stopping and asking children for directions.
Officers have been investigating the incidents and two of them have been found not to be as first reported. They are still waiting to speak to the child in one of the incidents.
Insp Monks, LPU commander at Loughborough, said: “We take all reports of this kind extremely seriously and are working to ascertain the facts of this incident as quickly as possible.
“I would like to reassure parents and children that we are putting on extra patrols in the areas and are working with the schools.
“My officers are visiting the schools and will be speaking to the children during assemblies.”
If anyone wants to report a suspicious incident they should contact Leicestershire Police on 101.
