FUNK SOUL BROTHERSOUNDS OF SIMONUPPINGHAM JAZZ AND SOUL BANDD’UKES OF RUTLANDAND MORE...




Rutland Food & Drink Festival: 14th September 2013, 10am - 6pm 
at Rutland Water, Sykes Lane, Empingham - Part of Rutland Day

Rutland Day runs in conjunction with the Rutland Food Festival. 
The Festival aims to highlight the range of quality local producers in 
and around Rutland, with visitors able to watch some of the region’s 
top chefs demonstrate their skills on stage and sampled a great range 
of delicious local food and drink.


Once again, DG Music are pleased to be providing some great acts who 
will all be performing on the main stage throughout the day, 
which will be compared by 

Funk Soul Brother is the UK’s best funk, soul and party band, guaranteed 
to give you a feel-good vibe and leave you wanting more. Nine talented 
musicians play a funktastic mixture of classic and contemporary tunes ranging 
from James Brown and Stevie Wonder to Michael Jackson and Daft Punk. 
Their repertoire takes you back and forth across generations of music and 
timeless dance floor classics. If you weren’t able to catch them at ‘Music on the Launde’,

Sounds of Simon are a pitch perfect Simon and Garfunkel tribute act who 
perform the full range of Simon and Garfunkel’s career together as well as drawing 
extensively from Paul Simon’s solo career. The sounds of Simon are not only great 
musicians; they also really act the part! The duo have got Simon and Garfunkel’s’ 
mannerisms, foibles and petty hatreds down to a tee. Their brilliant stage presence 
is a winning act in their own right!

The Uppingham Jazz and Soul band are a community based band who perform 
a range of swing, soul and jazz music who have performed at various charity 
events and concerts in the local area. The band consists of amateurs 
and -professional musicians who combine to make an exciting sound.
Having recently performed at the Oakham festival, the D’ukes of Rutland 
are excited to be playing at Rutland Day. They are a ukulele group who 
have performed at various places across the local area and further afield. 
are a community group whose members are made up of local musicians 
from all across the county and specialise in playing a mixture of popular 
and fun music on ukeles and vocals!

The Rutland Youth Dance Academy will also be performing various 
routines and Rutland Radio’s Rob Persani will be on hand to cover the
