Somerby Christmas Tree Festival, Somerby Methodist Church High Street Somerby

Somerby Christmas Tree Festival

Saturday December 21st to Sunday December 22nd

The Church is Open next Sat and Sun 21st and 22nd Dec from 2pm until 4.30pm both days for viewing over 30 trees!

All locally decorated from families and organisations, and businesses in the Parish. For example, we have a Partridge in a Pear Tree from Somerby Methodists Open Door group & Oakham Young Farmers have a huge tree full of tractors of many different colours, cows, round bales - did I forget to say these are toys!

Somerby School children have produced two trees, a Memory Tree and a Wishing Tree made by the children. Local church goer Rachal Harby has knitted 50 different mini santas, robins, snowmen and more for her splendid tree called Knit and Purl.

Visitors are welcome to Vote for their favourite tree or trees, by "Voting with Pennies". Each tree will have an empty milk bottle beside it and the tree with the bottle with the most pennies will win a decorated homemade Christmas Cake!

Freshly made mincepies, yummy cakes and Mulled Wine, coffee or tea, will be available throughout.
We have been busily making cakes too, for the Cake Stall.

The Open Church is open just Sat and Sunday afternoon next weekend, and we need people to come inside and take a look! No charge, just donations.

Also we are hosting a Mulled Wine and Mincepie evening in Church on Sat 21st 7-9pm, where everyone can view the trees and also vote with their pennies.
