Writes to the Rutland Times,

Why would he think no one wants to work in a convenience store or the Italian Restaurant here in Oakham?

I would but, both places never appear to advertise for staff.

They both frequently employ people who don't speak any English.

I visited the convenience store after the raid and was shocked to find a clean well presented woman who spoke fluent English had been employed so soon, So I missed out there.

So I don't agree with Mr Spiegl the law is not an ass and jobs need to be protected from illegals.

As for his comment about being flooded by unknown numbers of Romanians and Bulgarians, he has
been reading to many copies of the Daily Mail.

You report last week the arrest of five illegal workers at two well-known restaurants and a convenience store, all of whom would appear to have overstayed their visa limits.

Is it not odd that on the one hand we have the five illegal workers, note, workers actually doing a job that quite possibly local people don’t want to do anyway, and on the other hand the country is on the cusp of being flooded by unknown numbers of Romanians and Bulgarians attracted by the prospect of high wages and social security benefits, all because the EU tells us that we must open our doors to them, and our own leaders are too weak to say “No.”

Am I alone is thinking that the law is an ass?
