Michael Kane Labour wins seat in the Wythenshawe and Sale East by-election with a comfortable majority while UKIP beat the Tories into second place



Michael Kane Labour won with 13,261 votes,

beating UKIP's John Bickley, with 4,301, in second.

Rev Daniel Critchlow, for the Tories, came third on 3,479 votes,

and Lib Dem Mary Di Mauro, came fourth on 1,176.




UKIP - 4,301;
Monster Raving Loony - 288;
Conservatives - 3,479;
Lib Dems - 1,176;
Labour - 13,261;
BNP - 708;
Greens - 748;
rejected - 62

24,024 votes cast in Wythenshawe and Sale East by-election.
10,141 postal and 13,883 at polling stations

Turnout for Wythenshawe and Sale East by-election: 28.24 per cent of 85,058 electorate
