Aldi Supermarket Planning Application "We don't need any more supermarkets” Cllr Roger Begy Leader, Rutland County Council

Councillor Roger Begy, the Conservative leader of Rutland County Council, says he won't allow the supermarkets to turn his county town into a ghost town.

There's a small co-op. Tesco moved in 10 years ago. But Sainsbury, Waitrose and Morrisons are waiting in the wings to tap into this affluent corner of the country.

"We don't need any more supermarkets”

Cllr Roger Begy
Leader, Rutland County Council

Roger Begy says they'll have a long old wait. He wants to keep them well out of town.

He said all that in a BBC interview in 2011

Then the daft man went onto tell the public, he drove to Stamford Lincolnshire to shop at Lidl each week, in his fat Jag.

Since then his Tory mob has approved the Sainsbury application.

Waitrose probally would have been approved if the Rutland Times had not published that
the would be giving the council a gift, we must not forget how, many Tory councillors and staff "drank like
pigs at the bar" at a local hotel. Breaking every rule in the planning law book by accepting Waitrose Hospitality

Lets hope his Tory mob approves the Aldi Application.
