Oakham Town Council Objects to Proposed Extension To Former Oakham Mayors Brooke Road Property
The son of the late Mayor wishes to extend his late mothers home.
Oakham Town Councillors objected to the application after spending time just considering the demolition of the car port and the construction of a two storey extension. Not even noticing or commenting on the proposed loft conversion.
Cllr Lucas said its a funny area the TA hall is horrible and some sort of retired architect had done the
same further down the road. She added I have visited the home many times in the past.
Rutland County Councils Conservation Officer also objects along with a number of nearby residents.
It is a nice small semi, one I used to clean some years ago. The garden was nice. I once repaired part of
the car port, so I assume due its age it may need replacing.
The ironic thing about this, Mrs Fillingham told me she only became a town councillor to use her position,
in a attempt to block the arrival of Tesco because it would spoil her area. It seems strange the family
are now considering doing just that.

Construction of a two storey side extension to the south elevation of the
dwellinghouse following demolition of existing car port. Construction of a
single storey rear extension to the North West elevation. Conversion of loft
space to provide additional bedroom
