Contractors Erecting More  Signs directing people to Rutland County Councils New Bus Waiting Room in John Street Oakham. I don't know if they are staying up or if they are to direct the VIP's from the pub for the grand opening sometime Wednesday, I bet they are looking forward to the tour of the waiting room and I imagine a few might pop to the loo, lets hope it's not raining or the disabled will have to pop out to the side building.

American tourists often photographed the old public toilets in John Street they found it amusing refering to the "John" in John Street. Now I think they should look out for the various old manhole covers in the town made by Crapper of Chelsea London. There is one other name which is more local the foundry owners daughter still lives in Oakham and a number residents benefit from cheap rents in homes owned by the family estate.

Rutland County Council Oakham Bus Station Photographs same money buys 7 homes from Murrays with 22k leftover

I am no  property expert but  I am sure the value of any property is the land it sits on. Rutland County Council already owned the land. The bus waiting room described as a bus station or transport hub has cost
the government nearly one million pounds. Someone is making a huge profit from this building.

If Rutland County Council were to sell it tomorrow I would be surprised if they would get more than £200,000 for it and if it was rented out as shop £1000 + a month.

For the same money Rutland County Council could have visited Murrays estate agents and purchased seven
homes. All shown below. And with government help to buy scheme they can buy 9 new flats in John Clare Close.
