Leicester City Councillor, Former Lord Mayor of Leicester and Chairman of Police Authority Robert Wann was fined £2,600 For Gun Offence
Cllr Wann challenged two suspected thieves while holding a shotgun he had bought to mount on the wall of his pub at his pub, Dunton Basset Arms, in Dunton Bassett, he believed the men were stealing wood from the car park.
Mr Wann is a councillor for Thurncourt ward in the city, admitted having the gun without a certificate.
Mr Wann said he had bought the gun for £240 from a man called "Ginger Bob" and thought it had been decommissioned.
Mr Wann was fined £2,600 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £120 victim surcharge.
