Rutland Citizens Advice Bureau, Receives Grant From Oakham Town Council
Last year Oakham Town Council gave nothing to an organisation that helps many
people here in Oakham.
This year they have given part of a sum requested by the CAB. £2500
If the appointed representative vulgar homophobic Cllr Charles Haworth did what he
was meant to do as the council rep instead of gossipping and leaking private information
he has gleaned from the role. Oakham Town Council would know what a vital service
the CAB is to the community. Councillor should report back fact and figures and has never
done this and just like previous mayors who used to take up the role he prefers to just enjoy
their hospitality.
There are no longer any free to use phone in this county for people to contact the Job Centre
Benefit Agencies or Tax Offices, Rutland County Council now refuses the public the use of
its phones so the CAB is left to pick up the bill. £2500 should help a little.
Personally I think the way Oakham Town Council spends our money stinks. They quible
about paying organisations like the CAB and think nothing of spending over £6000 for a few
months watering of hanging baskets each year.
Then there are their own huge administration costs.
