Because of employment terms and conditions I could not state on-line that I was
employed by Welland Vale.
I was also asked by directors to remove a previous post, in which I highlighted
the opening of Welland Vales new Garden Inspirations, published before the start
of my employment, They said they did not want to be associated with my blog
because they had friends on the council, rather nice our council has friends.
My Job was only temporary with the slight possibility of it becoming permanent.
Twice my contract was extended. Every one seemed pleased with my work.
I was pleased to work for Welland Vale.
Disappointingly last week I was told my contract would not be extended again,
because times were hard for the company.
One of the major investors in the company is a former Tory Rutland County
Councillor, so I suggest all those well off Tories with big gardens start
shopping in Uppingham for all their plant needs, so the great team of people
I worked with don't also end up on the scrap heap.
I shall miss working with Rambo, The Chocolate Fairy and The Whacky Racer
and others.
I received a card with very kind messages and we all enjoyed a super chocolate
cake at lunch time.
Welland Vale like to be green where ever it can be, I was pleased to see some
of the fencing from the former Ashwell Prison has been recycled.
Now I am free from my contract and terms of employment I am
pleased to be able to once again share photographs of Uppingham's
fine garden centre.
The centre opened in February rather Interestingly The Rutland Times
only published a article about the opening of the store last week.
