Rutland & Melton MP Alan Duncan issued the following statement:
Alan Duncan and the competition 2011 Election
‘I am standing down from the Government at my own request, having decided that it is time for a change. I have been privileged to spend four years as Minister for International Development, which has been one of the most fulfilling responsibilities I have assumed in my life. I am proud to have contributed to Britain’s role in the world, but am now looking forward to weighing in behind the Government’s domestic efforts to restore the UK’s economic fortunes.’
