£15,000 Grant awarded to Oakham Town Council, Waste Recycling Environment Ltd

£15,000 Grant awarded to Oakham Town Council

Oakham Town Council has been awarded a £15,000 grant to help improve the Willow Crescent Play Area. The money has come from Waste Recycling Environment Ltd (WREN) which supplies grants funded by the Landfill Tax.

The total cost of the project will be approximately £20,000 and the balance will be made up by the Town Council's own funds along with donations from Lands' End Europe Limited, the Oakham Town Partnership and the Oakham Memorial Institute.

Kompan Ltd will be providing new play equipment as well as refurbishing some of the existing equipment at the site.

The Council ran a consultation exercise earlier in the year as well as visiting a local school and conducting a letter drop in the area. The Council would like to thank all those who took part in these as the number of responses and comments received were a key part in the successful application.

Work will start as soon as possible but residents are asked to note that there are still a number of formalities that need to be completed before that happens.
