Cllr Peter Lockett Oakham Town Council Statement, "He Will Be Sorely Missed" Did he Die?

Cllr Peter Lockett Oakham Town Council Statement, He Will Be "Sorely Missed" Did he Die?

I can't say I feel the same deep pain as Oakham Town Council

Rutland Times 28th August 2014

You can always tell when a rotten Oakham Town Councillor resigns by the reaction of the
old boys club, statements.

When a good Councillor resigns due to being totally fed up with the unprofessional conduct
of the council you won't see their name mentioned.

When Cllr Sharon Spencer former Oakham Mayor resigned a Councillor asked "do we send her a letter of thanks?" The Town Clerk responded "No"

We have had some very good new Councillors come and go and never any recognition of their attempts to serve our community.

I look forward to the statements when Homophic Councillors Haworth and Lucas go.

Rutland Mercury So Out of Touch, Cllr Lockett Oakham Town Council, Joanna Figgis Rutland County Council Resignation

The Rutland Mercury Reports The Following:

Two councillors have left their seats.

Joanna Figgis (Con) has resigned from Rutland County Council, while Peter Lockett has stepped down from Oakham Town Council. Both councillors represented the Oakham South West ward.

An Oakham Town Council statement said Mr Lockett had left his seat for “personal reasons”. No reason was given for Mrs Figgis’ resignation.

An election will be held to fill the county council seat if two electors in Mrs Figgis’ former ward request one. The town council requires 10 electors to request an election before one is held.

People can request an election for either council by writing to the Returning Officer at Catmose, Oakham, Rutland, LE15 6HP.

The Rutland Mercury say Mr Lockett had left his seat for "personal reasons" This is a lie and I wonder who authorised that comment?

Cllr Locketts Resignation Letter

undefined

Cllr Lockett resigned after I sent the following email to Rutland County Councils
conduct committee.

Dear Rutland County Council Standards Committee.

Re: Cllr Peter Lockett  Oakham Town Council.

During the co-option part of this evenings meeting Cllr Lockett made a defamatory statement about my conduct at council meetings.

He was correct to state I disrupt meetings as a member of the public and I may still do so if Homophobic Cllr Haworth and his supporters remain.

He said I disrupted all council meetings when I was a council member. I wish to make a formal complaint about Cllr Locketts defamatory comment,

When I was a member he never attended meetings, so he would be unaware that during full council meetings my conduct was good.

Of course we all know this was not always the case for the chairman his friend who told me to shut my mouth in public more than once. Who may have fed him with this untrue defamatory information?

It is true to say I refused to leave one staffing committee meeting, but that does not give Councillor Lockett the right to stand up publicly and lie about my conduct.

I would also like to make a formal complaint about his use of inappropriate language, Cllr Lockett often uses at meetings, for example at tonights planning considerations he said "just bloody get on with it"

I have ignored his use of inappropriate language in  the past, because he has often used it to express what I felt was a passion for a subject, such as his criticism of RCC and in the case of the CCTV, which I have agreed with him on.

Cllr Walters was present and said he is happy for me to include his name as a witness to the comment.

Ben Figgis Oakham School Deputy Head Moving to be head at Ardingly College, Cllr Wife, By-election Rutland County Council

Ben Figgis is the new headmaster appointed for Ardingly College, the leading independent school near Haywards Heath in West Sussex.

He is currently the Deputy Head of Oakham School in Rutland.

He will take up his new post from September 2014.

Mr Figgis is to replace the present head, Peter Green, who is moving on in September to be headmaster of Rugby School, after seven years at the helm of Ardingly,

Mr Figgis joined Oakham in 2005

His wife  Joanna is a Conservative Rutland County Councillor, a nice one, who appears to stay away when a controversial vote is required. Unless she is staying here in Oakham there will be a by-election in the Oakham South West Ward.
