Church Close, Ashwell. Person unknown have smashed rear passenger window of vehicle parked on street and stolen two holdalls.

A local resident has asked me to ask people to look out for her stolen property.

I have found details of the incident on Rutland Neighbourhood Watch Site.

LR/01166/14-5 02/09/14 18:00 – 03/09/14 08:30.  Church Close, Ashwell.  Person unknown have smashed rear passenger window of vehicle parked on street and stolen

two holdalls.

On the same day a police officer's brother had his holdall removed from the boot of his car parked outside Ashwell motors; it was not locked. It contained sports clothes and cricket bat.

Some of the ladies property  has been found by an off duty  police officer who was cycling along Empingham Road near Ketton.

If anybody has any information about her other stolen items please contact the police or email josie2112@hotmail.com

1.  Brown/cream Tapestry style with tan trim zipper holdall;  inside which is a black file with polly pockets containing documents CD and other smaller items.  The holdall has a zip pocket on the side with items in it.

2. A new blue canvas bag which has art material, paints brushes and books.

3. A pair of new spectacles/glasses ( bronze colored frames with dark blue sides ) in a shimmering maroon case, marked with Simmonds opticians.

4. A Gamin Sat Nav inside a case.

Good to see the senior reporter at the Rutland Mercury does not support vigilantism

Hi Joscelyne,

We can run a witness appeal for the theft from your vehicle but I'm not sure my editor would allow a page encouraging vigilantism.

Have the police been to see you yet? An incident number would be useful for a witness appeal.
